Maybe I'll get that beach home after all...

Catching up with my New Yorkers (I'm usually about 4 issues behind), I just finished Elizabeth Kolbert's series on global warming, and the US's big fat lack of response so far to try to stop or slow it (or hell, even admit it's happening). Yikes, how much more scary does it have to get? I know all those Chicken Little tree-huggers are always going on about the Earth this and the Earth that, but guess what - the planet's going to survive this episode just fine. Humans, on the other hand...

That series was the most believable piece of environmental Cassandrism I've ever read. I keep thinking about Glacier National Park, which I visited as a teenager on a family vacation, being glacier-free by 2030. Good God.

Yes. I literally had a nightmare about that climate change the other day, with imagery clearly borrowed from that piece.

Shudders.
