SINGIN' IN THE RAIN

Fortunately this has almost become a regular summer treat - SINGIN' IN THE RAIN at the Paramount Theatre. I saw the movie for the first time there years ago and was all but skipping down the street afterwards, and even with several viewings the effects have not diminished much. Imagine if the people making every movie worked and worked until they had designed every moment of every scene to achieve maximum pleasure for the audience. Hey, maybe it's true; no one sets out to make a bad movie, of course. But it also seems too few are willing to put this much care into making a good one either. Kelly, O'Connor (the best best friend ever), Reynolds and Hagen nail every note, step, gag, and punchline. So if you're trying the Tom Cruise Method of dealing with depression and need a pick-me-up, this type of safe natural relief should work wonders.
